In this bicentenary year ICE West Midlands are showcasing world leading innovation and research within the theme of growing cities and building resilience, through this Innovation Conference being held in Coventry in November 2018. We are now accepting papers for inclusion within this conference and are welcoming submissions from both academia and industry alike.
Projections show that urbanization combined with the overall growth of the world's population could add another 2.5 billion people to urban populations by 20501; As engineers at the frontline delivering urban infrastructure, do we build our way out of trouble or do we make better use of the assets we have by adopting new technologies?
We are inviting papers that showcase the novel and innovative advancements in the practice of civil engineering that meet the growing needs of urban populations. Prospective authors wishing to describe innovative work and submit papers are invited to submit two page in-depth abstracts relating to any of the relevant themes or topics for review by a panel. These themes and topics are as follows:
- Best practice; design, construction, buildability, sustainability, value and maintenance
- Forensic engineering
- Innovative techniques or solutions
- Research innovations
The project or research must have taken place in the Midlands, or, the work, project or research team (or individuals) must be based in the Midlands.
The Celebrating Innovation conference will be held in November 2018 and the abstract submission deadline is Monday 25 June 2018. Please forward any submissions or further queries to Daniel Stanyard at firstname.lastname@example.org.
