Overview

This workshop is for experienced engineers, who have expressed a desire to progress their ICE submission.

The series of one-day events has been designed to enable you to set out, plan and write your submission for your professional membership.

To attend you must have:

  • Provided a copy of your CV for review prior to the event.
  • Confirmed who your mentor is going to be for your process (if you are struggling to identify a mentor, please contact [email protected]).
  • Access to a laptop which you can bring to the event so that you can progress your Report during the day.

The structure of the day will be:

  • Welcome, introductions and workshop objective.
  • Getting started - the importance of structure, creating your submission, writing your introduction and close.
  • Core content – objective, mind mapping your core topic(s), outlining the core structure and writing content.
  • Development planning towards your next application date.

By the end of the day, your ambition is to have completed the structure of your submission, reviewed your CV into it and written c1,000 words. If you have already started your submission beforehand, then this is a great opportunity to complete it.

Michelle is the ICE Membership Manager for South West England, Wales & the Americas. She is experienced in a range of operational and strategic roles, leading customer service delivery, customer insight, data analysis, risk and compliance in complex environments.

She uses this experience in the professional development field, to support a range of students, apprentices, graduates and experienced practitioners in their personal development pathways, as well as supporting their employers' learning and development programmes. Michelle seeks to apply insight and social science to enable others to maximise their learning and development opportunities to achieve their career goals.
