Burnshot Bridge: from Concept to Construction, Edinburgh

About this event

Following a short AGM, we are looking forward to a talk on A90 Burnshot Bridge on the Edinburgh Bypass. The original bridge was constructed in 1964 as part of the A90 corridor to the Forth Road Bridge. After just 53 years of service, it was demolished in 2017 due to deteriorated half-joints and concerns about the structural integrity of the deck. Construction of a new bridge is now underway and this talk will focus on the procurement, design and construction of this new active-travel-focused link.

The presentation will be delivered by a speaker from each of the Client, Designer and Contractor.

Following this talk, there will be a site visit to the bridge on the afternoon of 23 September. In the case of over-subscription, priority will be given to those who attend the talk on 12 September. Please book to attend here.

Refreshments from 5.30pm, AGM at 6pm, Presentation at 6.15pm
