Challenge and Change in Construction and Design Management, Exeter

About this event

This fast paced interactive workshop will look at the step changes in construction health and safety required of clients and their supply chains today. The afternoon will focus on the Client and Principal Designer roles together with new ways of managing and communicating design and decision making output. Part of ICE’s CPD approach, this event is a “must” for civil engineers of all grades who have not yet had a chance to attend an extended training workshop. This course is also suitable for all clients and other design disciplines.

The workshop will provide an overview to some of the key concepts of CDM 2015 with delegate engagement from the start. It will focus on the Client and Principal Designer functions and cover:

  • Where CDM2015 fits in the UK Legal system
  • The vital role of the Client and ways of discharging Client duties
  • The PD role and what the HSE expects of industry
  • Managing hazard and risk at the Pre-construction phase and how to track this proportionately

Delegates will gain more from the Workshop if they bring a copy (electronic or paper) of the CDM Regulations and Guidance which can be downloaded from the HSE website and is referenced L153.

Also useful are notebooks and writing equipment.

Tea/coffee and soft drinks will be provided.
