About this event

An opportunity to learn what Students will face when go out into the wide world of engineering, illustrated by personal experiences of Finlo Paish the ICE representative for Ghana.

Finlo has 45 years of overseas experience as a contractor all over the world. He led the Kotoka airport contract in 1990, and has just completed the $1.5bn Tema Port as Project Manager.

Finlo Paish BSc, CEng FICE

Finlo is a contractor, with over 40 years overseas experience, generally in developing countries, as a major works Project Director.

Finlo graduated from Birmingham University with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1975 and started working overseas for contractor Taylor Woodrow International. He worked on Roads, Airports, Water Plants, and Ports as a Project Director in many locations worldwide including the Far and Middle East, Africa, Caribbean and South America.

In 1993, Finlo joined Midmac Construction in Qatar and assisted them in delivering LNG facilities in Ras Laffan, an airport, and power stations as Director of Construction.

In 1998, Finlo joined Biwater International and delivered a number of significant design and build water and sewage jobs worldwide, before as Project Director for Carillion helping to develop Cairo Festival City.

He is now based in Ghana for APM Terminals as Head of Construction on the $1.5bn New Tema Port Development.
