The AGM will be followed by a presentation by Adrian Coy, entitled: ‘What has the ICE ever done for us?’ and will focus on the role of ICE and how it supports members in the East Midlands region.

Adrian Coy has worked in both the public and private sectors and has been involved in a voluntary capacity with ICE for many years. In his role as Local Authority Strategy Director with AECOM, Adrian provided advice to local authorities, including the Midland Highways Alliance, and provided strategic input to major tenders. His 28 years’ experience in local government included 10 years as a Head of Service managing a workforce of up to 150 staff. Adrian has spoken to a range of audiences and had papers and articles published on a variety of topics.
Throughout his career Adrian has been active within the ICE at branch, region and national levels. In 2009 he received the Garth Watson Medal for services to the Institution, and in 2016 the William Kemp Award for outstanding contribution to the profession in the East Midlands. He has served on Council, the Executive Board and a number of Committees, Panels and Steering Groups. In 2016 Adrian completed a 3 year term as Vice-President Membership and Diversity, leading initiatives to broaden membership and encourage diversity. He is also responsible for strategies for inspiring young people to join the profession, and for encouraging life-long learning and professional development. Adrian currently chairs the Further Learning Examinations Panel developing a new MEng level examination for BEng graduates wishing to sit the Chartered Professional Review.
