A Chartered civil engineer by background, Lydia’s career has included both the site engineering and project management of multi-disciplinary teams on complex infrastructure. 3 years ago she took an opportunity to lead the digital transformation of Costain’s technology business and is now Digital Operations & Performance Director overseeing the Operational Technology, IT and Advisory business units.

Lydia combines her construction knowledge with a digital and technology perspective and is passionate about encouraging others to recognise the value in digitally optimising their contracts to become safer, greener, faster, more efficient and ultimately, future-proofing the industry.

Lydia is a member of the ICE Data & Digital Community Advisory Board, won the prestigious 2105 European WICE awards for Best Young Woman in Construction, and is a Freeman of the City of London with the Worshipful Company of Constructors. In 2019 she completed an MBA with the University of Surrey.

James Chambers

Regional Director UKI+ / VP Business Development UK, Bluebeam

James Chambers has a unique background in software, IT and the AECO vertical markets spanning nearly 3 decades. Currently, as the UKI+ & ROW Regional Director for Bluebeam, James is responsible for ensuring the positioning and utilisation of technology solutions to meet the needs and values of our diverse clients within this exciting and developing industry.

Previously, James was a Production Technologies Engineer at the civil engineering firm Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, where part of his responsibilities included deploying, supporting and training users on digital solutions as part of a global digital transformation strategy. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in 3D Design with Applied Mechanical Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University, UK.

Co-Founder and CTO, nPlan

Alan is the co-founder and CTO of nPlan, where he leads technology, research, and product, whilst developing thought leadership about forecasting and risk. Before nPlan, Alan spent 7 years as a technologist in quantitative finance, on live trading systems, research, and front-office in both high-frequency trading and asset management.

Alan has extensive experience in algorithm design and software engineering and holds a BEng in Computer Engineering, MSc in Computer Science, and doctoral research in machine learning theory.

CTO, Mott MacDonald

Mark is a keen champion of innovation in the context of collaborative delivery models and he is particularly interested in transformational change in the infrastructure industry (including: digital transformation, Smart Infrastructure, low-carbon sustainable solutions, platform-based delivery and design for manufacture and assembly).

As Mott MacDonald’s Chief Technical Officer, he is accountable to the Executive Board for technical excellence across the Group.  As the Chair of CDBB’s Digital Framework Task Group, Mark is contributing to the leadership of the National Digital Twin Programme.

Mark was the Digital Transformation workstream lead on “Project 13” for the Infrastructure Client Group, which represents the UK’s major infrastructure client organisations and he was the Lead Author of the Infrastructure Carbon Review, published by HM Treasury.
