Following the success of ICE 200 Shaping Our Future City, Institution of Civil Engineers Hong Kong Association Graduates and Students Division (ICE HKA G&S) has been organising a campaign “Shaping Our Future City 2019” for secondary school students from January to April 2019, with a theme of “Accessibility, Connectivity and Vibrancy”. Riding on the successful implementation of the site visits, talks and workshops sessions, the presentation-cum-exhibition will be held in late April at City Gallery, Central, to showcase students’ learning outcome, as well as promoting civil engineering to the public.
The scenario-based competition as one of the highlights of the campaign, featuring two major topics of Hong Kong, underground development and transportation infrastructure, was designed for the students to practise the knowledge acquired throughout the campaign, and to reinforce their understanding of the local construction industry. The students will showcase their proposals on the conceptual planning of the two topics by a verbal presentation on 27 April 2019 and a poster exhibition from 19 April to 13 May 2019.
In addition to the students’ proposals, recent projects of various government departments and engineering corporates as well as information of local tertiary organisations and Institution of Civil Engineers will be displayed in the exhibition.
Registration is required for the presentation part (Booking form: https://forms.gle/vFMdSjVKUhB75njs8)
Registration will be on a first-come-first-served basis and priority will be given to ICE student and graduate members.
Only successful applicants will receive confirmation e-mail.
Registration is not required.
