  • HDS is the innovative sister company of MATtest Southern, a UKAS-accredited materials test house with 5 laboratories across the Midlands and South of England
  • The HDS approach to materials testing is that, by applying technological data-driven solutions to industry problems, we can improve the safety and quality of construction operations
  • We developed the Automated Quality Assurance (AQA) system which won ‘Innovation of the Year’ at the New Civil Engineer TechFest last year, as well as being highly commended in the Innovation category at the Highways Awards (joint with AI) and winning the Innovation award at the MPA Health and Safety awards (also joint with AI)
  • We have also developed an app, which uses an infra-red camera, for measuring the rate of spread of pre-coated chippings in HRA, and are working on automated quality assurance systems for surface dressing and micro-surfacing operations
