On 7 May 2020, Bristol holds its 3rd mayoral election. A collaborative partnership of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), and the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) are hosting a debate for candidates to outline and be quizzed on their aspirations, ideas, and plans around placemaking, infrastructure and the climate.
How will the new Mayor ensure a thriving, sustainable Bristol, and work collaboratively with West of England partners? How will be new homes be delivered in the numbers and quality required? How will city and sub-regional infrastructure reduce carbon emissions, congestion and stress? How will technology be embraced to support the city address the climate emergency? How will people and communities be engaged with the city to ensure a place for everyone to live, work and play?
Hosted by Elena Marco, Head of Department Architecture and the Built Environment at UWE Bristol, our Bristol Mayoral Debate brings together built environment professionals and future professionals to engage with and quiz the candidates.
