About this event

The marine dredging and offshore wind industries are inexorably linked with the major dredging contractors adapting their marine expertise to also specialise in the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of offshore wind farms.

The contractors will give presentations on specific aspects of the industry together with details of site allocation and licensing by the Crown Estate plus port and other services supporting the industry from the Able Group.

The Able Group will outline their experience across the offshore wind sector, the scale of future opportunities and details of their existing and proposed facilities and how they are designed to meet the sectors requirements - including the provision of deep water quays, heavy duty quayside laydown areas, craneage, transportation and other services.

Peter Coleman

Tendering Manager, MPI Offshore, Van Oord’s Offshore Wind subsidiary in the UK

Peter will focus on Van Oord’s Offshore Wind Services from ballance of plant to O&M including relevant case studies.

Jillis Koch

Commercial Manager, Boskalis Offshore Wind T&I

With advancements in marine plant to service the offshore wind industry, Jillis will provide details and utilisation examples demonstrating the capability of the heavy lift vessels ‘Bokalift 1’ and ‘Bokalift 2’.

Dr Norman Skillen

General Manager UK & Ireland, Jan De Nul

Norman will give an overview of the growth of the offshore wind market, and how it has recently spread out from Europe. With work in three of the first four projects in Taiwan, Jan De Nul will also share some early insights into the challenges and differences of offshore wind construction in Taiwan.

Adrian Fox

Head of Offshore Assets for the Energy, Minerals and Infrastructure group at The Crown Estate

The Crown Estate – Our role in UK Offshore Wind Energy Development.

Adrian has the responsibility for active asset management of offshore infrastructure as well as the operational offshore wind fleet and will present details of how The Crown Estate works with Industry, Government, and Stakeholders to maximize the deployment of generation and transmission capacity in a sustainable way.

Jonathan Wheatley

UK Representative, DEME Offshore

Jonathan will provid details and examples of cable lay and trenching with the specialist vessel ‘Living Stone’, with particular references to the Hornsea One Project.
