This online event is organised by CIWEM and supported by ICE.
It will consist of five mini-presentations from researchers and PhD students within the Young Professional Network (YPN) at Cardiff University. Topics include: natural flood management, plastic pollution, in-situ water quality monitoring for reservoirs, modelling of flood dynamics, and wind-wave interaction in the wave boundary layer for extreme climate.
The presentations will showcase the most recent research results from Cardiff University in the field of coastal and fluvial waters.
Dr Follett is RAEng Research Fellow from Hydro-environment Research Centre at the School of Engineering, Cardiff University, whose research is in the areas of the physical processes of wood jams and vegetation affected flow, particle transport, and ecological health and applications of woody debris dams in natural flood management.
Dr Jams is Research Associate at School of Biosciences, Cardiff University, working on sources, movement and fates of plastic pollution in freshwater.
Inge is a PhD student from FRESH CDT, Cardiff University, working on in-situ water quality sensors for reservoir management.
Nefeli is a PhD student from WISE-CDT, Cardiff University, whose research is focused on the air-wave interaction in wave boundary layer.
Sam is a PhD student from WISE-CDT, Cardiff University, whose research is focused on modelling flood dynamics in the upper Severn catchment.
