The Royal Seaforth Dock - 50 years, online

About this event

Opened in 1971, the Royal Seaforth Dock has been part of the Liverpool landscape for 50 years.

Commissioned by the Mersey Dock and Harbour Company in the late 1960s, it is a purpose-built dock and container terminal on the River Mersey. At the time of its construction, it was one of the biggest impounded dock systems in the world.

Join this webinar, with speaker Patrick Langan, to learn more about the history of the dock, including the innovative construction techniques used and their effectiveness over the current life span of the structure.

This event is organised and hosted by the ICE Merseyside branch and ICE North West Historical Engineering Group.
