Overview

Join the ICE West Midlands Senior Group for lunch at Dudley Golf Club followed by speaker David Brown FICE, chair of the ICE West Midlands Panel of Historical Engineering Works.

David will give a talk on the design and operations of reservoirs and how canals are built. David has over 45 years’ experience with canals and reservoirs. Delegates will have the opportunity to ask David questions about the engineering process of dams and reservoirs.

This lunch will provide an excellent opportunity to network and hear from an experienced reservoir engineer.

The meeting will follow the usual format; meeting at the bar at 12:30 followed by a meal at 13:00. The meal will consist of three courses followed by coffee or teas.

The cost of the three-course meal is £22.95 and must be paid on the day. Please advise of any dietary requirements by Friday 01 December 2023.

The set menu is:

  • Starter: broccoli and stilton soup
  • Main: chicken served with vegetables
  • Dessert: biscoff cheesecake served with cream

David Henthorn Brown BSc CEng FICE is Principal Reservoir Engineer at the Canal & River Trust. He is a consultant to Stillwater Associates and the Panel for Historical Engineering Works (PHEW) Member for ICE West Midlands. David has over 45 years’ experience in civil engineering, mostly in canals and reservoirs. His interest in historical engineering goes back to the 1960s.
