Overview

The ICE Yorkshire and Humber Early Careers Network (ICE Y&H ECN) represents graduates, students, technicians, and apprentices based across Yorkshire and Humber. This includes those in higher education and/or working towards getting professionally qualified.

Our monthly meetings are an excellent opportunity to meet local like-minded graduates, students, apprentices, and technicians within the ICE. It provides a great environment for support and advice no matter what stage you are in your career. We always welcome new members along and look forward to hearing new ideas.

In this meeting, our co-chair Hollie Reynard will provide an informative session on asset management. She’ll focus on inspection methods, typical structural defects and their repair details.

Hollie is a civil engineer at Drax Power Station, whose site near Selby in North Yorkshire provides the most renewable power of any single location in the UK, some 14 terawatt-hours (TWh) or enough electricity to power the equivalent of five million homes. In recent years the site has had to evolve and become the home of the largest decarbonisation project in Europe and is now the site of innovation for bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS), a negative emissions technology essential for fighting the climate crisis.

Our meeting will be held online. Upon registering your interest, we will contact you with the details for joining the meeting and provide a copy of any relevant meeting documents (agenda and previous meeting minutes for example).
