Organised by the ICE West Midlands Birmingham, Solihull and Black Country Branch (BSBC), visit the Wednesbury Tram Depot for an opportunity to see the ongoing expansion works.

Owned by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) and operated by Midland Metro Ltd (MML), the Wednesbury Tram Depot was built and commissioned in 1999, which encountered expansion works in 2013.

Due to ongoing multiple extensions to the West Midlands Metro Network and increase in the number of light rail vehicle (LRV) fleet, there is the need to further expand the depot to cope with the increased maintenance and serviceability demands.
The following PPE is required for access to the site:

  • Hard hat
  • Long sleeve hi-vis top (orange)
  • Hi-vis trousers (orange)
  • Glasses
  • Gloves
  • Safety boots

Please note: you will need to bring your own PPE as this will not be provided.

The scheme access is an easy commute via trams, the Depot is next to Wednesbury Great Western Tram Stop.

Please note: there is no parking available within the depot compound.

Spaces for this event are extremely limited, once booking capacity has been reached, please contact [email protected] to be added onto the waiting list.
