Attendees will be taken on a virtual tour of the project presented by Mike Cummine, construction director at Future Valleys Construction. A mix of illustrations, photographs, video and timelapse imagery will be used to show the comprehensive engineering works taking place along the 11 mile length of the project. This includes the construction of:

  • 38 culverts,
  • the upgrading of existing junction and new grade separated junctions and movement of the 2.2million cubic meters of earth and rock.

During the virtual site visit Mike Cummine will explain the engineering challenges and solutions that have been deployed at key locations along the 11 mile route of the project.

The virtual site visit will also outline the mitigation measures introduced to protect wildlife and the strategy to support sustainability and improve biodiversity in the area.

Community benefits manager, Martin Gallimore will explain how the award winning A465 Education Programme is inspiring a future generation of engineers, how social media is being used to communicate with local communities and how the team has built proactive relationships to leave a lasting legacy from the project.
