Overview

Offshore wind is growing massively in the coming decades with wind turbines growing in size. The growth of rotor sizes and tower heights increases the loads that the turbines exert on the foundations.

The end of the traditional bolted L-flange connection is expected, and the industry is actively looking for alternatives.

The C1 Wedge Connection can withstand these high loads and make offshore installation both safer and faster.

Jasper Winkes

Jasper Winkes studied mechanical engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology in The Netherlands. Following his studies, he started Fistuca BV, developing innovative techniques for the foundation industry.

In 2013 the development of a new pile driving technology for offshore monopiles, BLUE Piling Technology, started and in 2016 the development of the C1 Wedge Connection was initiated. Early 2019 the BLUE Piling Technology was acquired by IQIP BV and a new company was started for the C1 Wedge Connection, called C1 Connections.
