Overview
Coastal structures are exposed to the unpredictable (or not accurately quantifiable) nature of the sea and other elements. This requires great focus in order to ensure that the structures are able to perform their duty satisfactorily during the intended life cycle.
The concept behind maintenance of coastal structures is relatively easy to grasp, however sometimes it might be not immediately obvious how to determine the right management strategy, what and how to monitor or how to implement repairs.
This webinar offers some consideration on the importance of implementing an adequate inspection and maintenance regime for coastal structures with specific reference to rock armoured structures. This should be conducive to the implementation of an Asset Management system for strategic structures.
