Overview

The Edinburgh Glasgow Improvement Programme (EGIP) Alliance is delivering a critical rail infrastructure upgrade between Scotland's two principal cities, Edinburgh and Glasgow and forms part of the £742 million Scottish Government-funded investment to transport in the country. The objectives include reducing journey time, increasing capacity and providing an electrified greener railway between Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The presentation will explain more about the overall project framework and its importance and then focus on the work carried out to date and planned for Glasgow's Queen Street Station and its associated enabling works, which include the reopening of the Anniesland Crossover and the full refurbishment and electrification of the Winchburgh tunnel.
