Overview

This lecture will provide a update on tunnelling works at Transport for London’s (TfL) 1.1km long twin-bore Silvertown Road tunnel, constructed using a single 11.91m diameter earth pressure balance (EPB) tunnel boring machine (TBM). The two bores are connected though 7No. sprayed concrete lining (SCL) cross-passages, of which 4 required ground freezing.
