Overview

Join us to discover the details involved in replacing one of Europe’s last open treated drinking water reservoirs, located on a 16-hectare site in suburban Dublin. The reservoir was originally built in two stages between 1862 and 1885. The site contained three reservoirs with an effective storage capacity of approximately 800 million litres of treated water. Meaning that it was also vulnerable to contamination.

The new covered reservoir, with a storage capacity of 160 million litres of treated drinking water, provides a safer more secure and sustainable water supply for more than 200,000 consumers in south Dublin. Construction commenced in 2018 and reached completion in 2022.

Our guest speakers in this webinar will explain the details behind the concept of the rejuvenation including the planning and construction involved in this innovative project.
