Overview

Join Bristol ICE City Club in celebrating International Women in Engineering Day 2023 #MakeSafetySeen by attending this thought-provoking talk on women’s safety in public spaces.

In the wake of the Sarah Everard disappearance, discussions around women’s safety have been brought to the forefront. Susan Leadbetter, Principal Consultant at WSP walks us through her award-wining study into women’s personal safety on public transport in London. She heard from over 600 women across London who shared their experiences first hand and in May 2021 presented her findings and a series of interventions to Transport for London (TfL). TfL have since implemented a marketing campaign around sexual harassment on the transport network.
