Overview

It is fundamental to have the right structural bearing in place to allow the structure to perform as it is designed to do so for its design life.

This webinar will look at the following aspects of structural bearings:

  • What is a bridge bearing?
  • What information is required to select or design the right bearing?
  • Different types of bearings
  • How do we ensure quality
  • What are the maintenance issues? What warranties can we expect?
  • Correct installation
  • Incorrect Installation
  • Installation best practice

In addition to the above, some broad commercial costs shall be discussed.

Since joining USL Ekspan as a project manager, Max works closely with the service team on all levels from administration logistics of planning site works/ordering materials to hands-on involvement with fellow site engineers carrying out installation/refurbishment on day/night shift works to ensure deadline schedules are met.

Working on the DLR project in London, gave Max relevant experience on performing quality assurance tasks such as carrying out bearing paint tests and completing paint test forms, providing photographic evidence at each stage of the remedial works and meeting/liaising with the relevant management/supervisor staff.
