Overview

To cater for population growth and development needs, and to safeguard public health and protect the environment, this project will increase the treatment capacity of Yuen Long Sewage Treatment Works from 70,000 cubic meter per day to 100,000 cubic meter per day.

With the increase in sewage treatment capacity, this project will enhance treatment level at tertiary effluent polishing standard to ensure that its discharge will comply with the more stringent discharge requirements, thus protecting the ecological setting of Deep Bay.

In combating climate change, design of YLEPP has taken multiple measures to minimize energy consumption and maximize energy generation, together with green building design and other sustainable features, achieving energy neutrality and striving towards carbon neutrality.
