HKA G&S: company visit to Arup and career workshop

Overview

Company visit and career workshop is an exciting initiative that aims to equip civil engineering students with skills and knowledge for successful job hunting and to bridge the gap between aspiring civil engineers and industry professionals. Two essential components for job hunting, CV writing and interview skills, will be covered in the workshop. Attendees will be able to learn the top tips of writing their CV in a precise and concise manner, strategies in preparing cover letters as well as interview skills for civil engineering jobs.

Through engaging presentations, discussions on industry trends, and interactive sessions with experienced engineers, students will gain practical insights into daily operations of an engineering firm, project management, innovative technologies, and sustainability practices. This event could inspire university students with a firsthand understanding of how a reputable civil engineering firm operates.

Notes: 

• Registration will be confirmed on a first-come-first-served basis, with priority given to ICE Student Members. Only successful applicants will be notified.
• The event will be conducted primarily in Cantonese, and English terms will be introduced where appropriate.
• Attendance certificates will be provided within two weeks of the event only if attendees participate for the entire duration of the event.
• Attendance certificates will be provided after 2 weeks of the event only if attendees attend the whole event.
• Applicants with no-show records will be given lower priority in future G&S events.
