Overview
The UK Climate Projections 2018 (UKCP18) provide a major upgrade to the range of UK climate projection tools designed to help decision-makers assess their risk and exposure to climate change impacts.
Dr Joe Osborne, Senior Climate Consultant, Met Office will discuss these latest projections and place them in the context of the UK water industry. In particular, he will provide a focus on high-resolution projections for precipitation change and discuss what this means for future extreme multi-year drought and extreme daily rainfall, in context of the present-day occurrences. Further, Joe will discuss changes to the UK water industry as a result of COVID-19 and how the Met Office is supporting the industry in adapting to these changes.
