This presentation will also provide:
- A background to the project, include the history and geology of the Tynemouth area
- The challenges and constraints of designing a retaining wall solution, including design life, construction programme and environmental and sustainability considerations
- A detailed insight into the construction of the new retaining wall, including a technical look at ground engineering techniques used, the method of demolishing the existing wall and the problems that occurred whilst on site
- The lessons learnt from the project regarding health and safety, effective project management, the technical challenges encountered and what could have been done differently
