Overview
While the last fatality due to reservoir failure in the UK occurred nearly 100 years ago, recent events have highlighted the threats our reservoirs pose.
This presentation will provide an introduction to the reservoir industry and the legislation in place to keep our reservoirs safe. It will also discuss the works being undertaken at Toddbrook Reservoir one year on from the incident back in August 2019.
The talk will be targeted towards graduates and students who have little experience of reservoir works and will be delivered by:
- Sarah Loughrey, Senior Engineer at Jacobs and Young Professional Chair of the British Dam Society
- Lucy Monkhouse, Reservoir Engineer from the Canal and River Trust
