Overview
The Circular Economy represents a development strategy that enables economic growth while optimizing material resource efficiency, deeply transforming production chains and consumption patterns, as well as redesigning industrial systems. This effectively decouples economic growth from consumption of resources.
Earlier this year, the Welsh Infrastructure Alliance produced a short report for the National Infrastructure Commission for Wales. The report was designed to stimulate dialogue between the Commission and stakeholders with an interest in the infrastructure sector.
The Welsh Infrastructure Alliance (WIA) draws together like-minded organisations representing over 600 member companies and over 10,000 individual members from across the infrastructure sector. The WIA is formed from ICE, CIWM, ACE, ACE, CEW, CIWEM. CIHT, IStructE. The Alliance sees itself as a source of advice (to the National Infrastructure Commission for Wales) and potential solutions to enable the delivery of “world class” infrastructure in Wales to drive our future wellbeing as a nation. This event is one in a series of briefing documents to the Commission that the WIA was invited to provide.
