Three North Wales based aspiring engineers will make brief presentations relating to a range of infrastructure projects on which they have recently gained first-hand design and construction experience.

Lowri Allman

Lowri graduated from the University of Leeds with a First Class MEng (Hons) in civil engineering in 2022. Having worked for Binnies since September 2022,

Lowri’s current role is a raduate civil engineer in the Flood, Coast and Maritime Consultancy team, where her work is primarily focused on Natural Resources Wales Next Generation Framework Projects. Some of the experience she has gained includes flood risk management schemes, fish passage design, river restoration, reservoir safety (both UK and Hong Kong), as well as peatland and forestry projects.

Alicia Allsup

Alicia graduated with a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Liverpool John Moores University in 2024 and is currently working towards Chartership with the ICE. In 2024, Alicia also obtained NEC4 ECC Project Management accreditation.

She currently works as a Senior Engineer at YGC within the Project Delivery Team, where she is involved in the delivery of active travel schemes and highway improvement projects. Prior to joining YGC, Alicia spent four years at Datrys Consulting Engineers, gaining experience in housing developments and commercial schemes, with a focus on drainage and highway design.

She is also the Secretary of the ICE North Wales Graduate, Student and Technicians (GSaT) Committee, where she supports events and initiatives aimed at helping early-career professionals progress towards professional qualification.
