Book nowOverview
The Sau Nga Road Stormwater Storage Scheme aims to relieve the flooding issues in Kwun Tong. This project includes the development of an underground storage tank spanning 64,000m3 at Sau Nga Road Playground, as well as the construction of approximately 185m of stormwater drains with diameters ranging from 1,800mm to 3,000mm at Hip Wo Street.
The implementation of this underground stormwater storage tank is strategically designed to effectively manage stormwater runoff, thereby reducing the risk of flooding in Kwun Tong. By opting for this innovative solution, the scheme aims to alleviate flood-related challenges without the necessity for extensive drainage enhancement works along busy streets. This approach not only enhances the area's flood resilience but also minimises disruptions to daily activities and traffic flow in the neighbourhood.
Moreover, the stormwater storage scheme presents an opportunity to optimise land use by incorporating recreational facilities and creating additional community spaces within the vicinity. Embracing a "single site, multiple use" philosophy, the project intends to maximise the benefits derived from the infrastructure development.
The integration of recreational amenities alongside the stormwater management infrastructure showcases a forward-thinking approach that not only enhances the area's flood resilience but also enriches the quality of life for local residents.
