design engineer
Aleesya joined Strabag as a graduate design engineer on The Woodsmith Project in 2023 after completing her BEng in civil engineering at The University of Liverpool. She has been assisting in the design coordination of timber heading, SCL adit construction as well as temporary works on site, ensuring that the construction quality meets the design.

surveyor
Megan is a surveyor on the Woodsmith Project.
Recently, she has also successfully completed the STRABAG UK’s graduate scheme. She graduated with BSc in Geology and MSc in Surveying from Camborne School of Mines, University of Exeter. She spends most of her time working underground in the tunnel but also works on surface doing a range of surveying from setting out to control network surveys (primary/secondary/gyro) and monitoring (manually with a total station and with installed monitoring systems).
She also recently won The Excellence in Innovative Surveying and Engineering award from SCCS for her dissertation topic “Comparisons of two different LiDAR techniques to scan large sections of an underground tunnel”.

Patrick Chow is a senior tunnel engineer at The Woodsmith Project.
He started his career as a graduate engineer at Central Kowloon Route – Kai Tak East (HY/2018/02) at Paul Y. Engineering Group after graduating from The University of Hong Kong in civil engineering in 2019.
He joined Strabag in 2020 as a shift engineer, working on the Woodsmith Project mineral transport system (MTS) tunnel and SCL adit construction works.
In 2023, he took up the role as a section engineer, focusing on planning, organising and programming the dual track crossings construction in the MTS tunnel and cross passage construction between the Lady Cross intermediate access and ventilation shaft and the MTS tunnel.
He also covers the shift manager (person in charge) role on site, resolving problems and challenges during daily site operations.
