Member subscription fees
Please note that subscriptions for NEW members of all grades are calculated on a pro rata basis.
* If you have a qualification that meets the educational requirements for technician grade and are looking to become a technician member, you could be eligible for a concessionary rate when you become a graduate member.
** This rate is for those who became AMICE before the end of 2016.
If you are applying for the new AMICE grade, the following rates will apply once your application has been approved:
Reduced and retired member subscription fees
If you’re a member, retired member or prospective member and are currently unable to afford the full fee, you may be eligible for a reduction.
Reduced subscription fee
This reduction is available if your taxable income is £16,286 or less per year (excluding income from pensions). You must apply for this reduced rate annually in case your circumstances change.
To claim a reduced subscription fee you can either:
- Apply online via MyICE – by paying your subscription renewal and selecting the reduced subscription fee option
or
Retired member subscription fee
Retired ICE members are entitled to a reduced subscription fee if they:
- Are aged 60 or over on 1 January 2019
- Have retired from full-time employment on that date
- Are earning no more than £16,286 per year (excluding income from pensions) from any employment or other taxable income

To claim the retired member subscription fee you can either:
- Apply online via MyICE – by paying your subscription renewal and selecting the retired member subscription fee option
or
Engineering Council registration fees
You must pay your entrance fee within 3 months of receipt of your result letter, or your registration will be void. You must not use your designated title until you have paid the entrance fee.
