Membership fees and subscriptions

Find all the information you need about ICE's membership fees, associated costs and reduced rates.

These include application fees, entrance fees, registration fees, and membership subscription fees, as well as charges for having your membership reinstated.

Reduced rate

Depending on your personal circumstances, you may be eligible for a reduced fee. Each of the tabs below includes details of reduced rates and who qualifies.

ICE application fees

You may be able to claim a reduced rate for some applications if your income is £10,920 or less per year at the time of applying. Please download the reduced rate application fee form and email it with your application, although it is not required if you are paying or applying online.

If you live outside the UK, please check the currency converter to see if you qualify.

Reinstatement fees

If your membership has lapsed for more than 10 months and you are reinstating at your previous grade of membership then you'll need to pay the relevant fee below once your reinstatement application has been approved. If you are reinstating at a higher grade then you just pay the relevant application fee.

Has you membership lapsed by more than 3 years?

You should pay the Reinstatement Interview fee online when you make your reinstatement application.  The reinstatement fee, together with the current year's subscription and any outstanding Engineering Council subscription charges (if applicable) should be paid once the reinstatement has been approved, by contacting our Membership Services Team on +44(0)207 665 2227.

Reduced and retired member subscription fees

If you’re a member, retired member or prospective member and are currently unable to afford the full fee, you may be eligible for a reduction.

Reduced subscription fee

This reduction is available if your taxable income is £16,286 or less per year (excluding income from pensions). You must apply for this reduced rate annually in case your circumstances change.
