Commenting on the publication of Labour's general election manifesto, Nick Baveystock, Director General of the Institution of Civil Engineers, said:
"Investment in infrastructure is crucial for building the foundations of a world class economy that delivers for the next generation. This includes clean air, community and opportunity.
"Achieving a net-zero economy is at the heart of this but to have any chance of achieving it, we need people to make difficult choices to build a comprehensive national infrastructure strategy that also improves productivity across the economy. Whoever forms the next government, this is what they must drive."
