2021 ICE membership ballot: voting opens in June

Members, look out for an email from Civica Election Services on Thursday 6 May

The ICE membership ballot opens on 1 June 2021 and ICE members are encouraged to use their vote and have their say.

This year members will be asked to vote on:

  • 12 vacancies for ICE Council members
  • Two vacancies for Trustee Board members
  • Resolutions affecting the Royal Charter and By-laws

Test email from Civica

The vote will be administered by Civica Election Services (CES) who shall email or post ballot papers to members. CES is an independent body that will scrutinise the votes and ensure the integrity of the ballot.

On Thursday 6 May 2021, CES will send a test email to all members eligible to vote in this year’s elections.

The email will come from the address [email protected]. Members are asked to add this address to their safe senders list.

Ballot papers and further information

Members will receive ballot papers and further information from CES in early June. ICE encourages members to browse through the information and spare a little time to register their vote.

Alongside voting for new members of Council and the Trustee Board, Members will also be asked to vote on a number of changes to the ICE’s Royal Charter and By-Laws. The changes are proposed by the Trustee Board and Council and cover a number of areas.

Members will be asked to vote on Resolutions about the introduction of the protected title of Chartered Infrastructure Engineer; changes to the voting rights of both Technician and Graduate members; and changes to the language used in the By-laws to reflect best practice.
