Incoming ICE President, Ed McCann, is looking for six technician or graduate members to join him as his Future Leaders.
The President’s Future Leaders Scheme is an opportunity for up-and-coming graduate engineers and technicians to gain an insight into the higher levels of the profession and to boost their careers.
The successful candidates will work with Ed McCann during his 2021/22 presidential year, when he takes over from current President Rachel Skinner in November.
The Future Leaders will have the opportunity to work on a strategic project set by the incoming President – “Optimal Infrastructure – solving the real problem in the best way possible”; attend key Institution events; meet senior industry people and politicians; be mentored by the President; and accompany him on regional visits.
Ed will be using his presidential year to energise the ICE’s contribution to the important task of improving infrastructure productivity, within the context of delivering the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals, and achieving net zero carbon by 2050.
“Civil engineering lies at the heart of the inspiration, design, construction, adaptation, and everyday operation of infrastructure, so we are perfectly placed to act,” said Ed.
The scheme is open to all ICE Technician Members and Graduate Members working towards professional qualification.
Those interested should submit the completed application by 12 noon (UK time) on Friday 23 July 2021.
