This year’s Model Building Competition has opened for entries, pitting teams of undergraduates against each other to demonstrate their ability to turn technical knowledge into practice by explaining the engineering behind models they have built themselves.
The competition allows students to not only show off the engineering behind their creations but improve their presentation skills at the same time. This year, participating teams will each build a model of a bridge made of balsa wood and other materials within a set time limit. The model' will then be tested by applying increasing loads to the bridge using aa wind tunnel machine. The theme differs every year and tpo help this year’s participants a pre-competition workshop is being held on 18 January 2020 to inspire your ideas before the competition.
