Who we are
We're run by our members, for the benefit of not just our members, but also industry and public communities across the world.
We award professional qualifications that are the industry standard, lead the debates around infrastructure and the built environment and provide an unmatched level of training, knowledge and thinking.
The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) is a professional membership body that government and industry listen to while providing unrivalled support to our 95,000 civil engineer members.
If you work in the built environment, or heading that way, then you will probably know who we are. ICE has a member grade to match your experience, education and ambitions. There is plenty of joining information on this website including details of how to contact our membership recruitment team.
I was a student member of ICE and that came about because I had been awarded a QUEST scholarship.
ICE Member
I'm a civil engineer, but I'm also ... a project manager, a digital champion, a mentor.
ICE Fellow
No day as a civil engineer is the same, and that is what makes it so exciting.
