This event has now ended
Overview
Please note this is an additional site visit due to the original date of 22/07/2026 being sold out
M3 Junction 9 Improvements project involves major improvement works to the junction to allow free-following links between M3 and A34 in both directions. Aiming to reduce journey times and improve safety. The works involve widening the junction, two new bridges and an underpass. Alongside, walking and cycling connections through the junction.
During the event there will be a talk on the scheme alongside a walking tour of the site around some of the major structures on the project prior to them going live / open for traffic and a view of the M3 underpass site.
You must be wearing the PPE listed below whilst walking around the site. The minimum PPE you need to bring with you is shown in bold, however, if you can bring any of the other listed PPE that would help the evening run more smoothly.
- Steel toe cap boots
- Long sleeve high vis vest
- Hard hat
- High vis trousers
- Safety glasses
- Gloves
Please arrive at site before 5pm in your PPE to allow the event to start on time.
If you don’t have steel toe boots or have limited mobility, there will be very limited spaces on a minibus to give you the opportunity to see the site. Please let us know if this is the case when you sign up.
This is joint event between the South Branch and South Branch ECNet and will be a good networking event for those early in their careers.
Please car share where possible. Be aware it is left-in and left-out turning only in and out of the site offices.
