ICE Wales Cymru Ground Engineering Group have organised this webinar, BS EN 16907 - Europe's first earthworks standard: Enabling a common approach for the future.
The first ever European Earthworks Standard, BS EN 16907, was published at the end of 2018. This was the culmination of over nine years of detailed collaborative working by earthworks specialists from many European countries including the UK. Earthworks are a feature of nearly every geotechnical project and so the subject of this meeting will be of interest and relevance to many ICE members.
As well as introducing the main aspects of the new standard, the speakers will discuss how BS 6031, the BS Code of Practice for Earthworks, has been updated to align it with the new European standard.
They will also introduce CEN Technical Specification for Continuous Compaction Control, also prepared by the CEN TC 396 working group, which has the potential to introduce innovations to the process and recording of compaction in the UK.

A series of web-based workshops aimed at graduate, student and technician members who are working toward EngTech, IEng or CEng with the ICE. These workshops provide advice and guidance on recording Initial Professional Development (IPD), broken down by attribute.

This is an opportunity for Technician members (EngTech MICE/FICE) and those wishing to become qualified at EngTech grade to come together to discuss issues that are important to technicians. This session explores becoming an ICE EngTech reviewer, with benefits and applying.

Join the ECNet for this technical webinar about the design of active travel infrastructure. Two Incorporated Engineers from Mott MacDonald will share key learning from a redevelopment scheme focusing on active travel, and a new layout for the design of CYCLOPS junctions.
