Overview

In this session run by the ICE Wales Fairness, Inclusion and Respect committee, we’ll explore what social value means for built environment projects in Wales, why it matters, and how it is embedded within legislation and policy such as the Well-being of Future Generations Act.

We’ll look at practical examples of social value in action and discuss strategies for unlocking added benefits through procurement and collaboration. A key highlight will be a project spotlight on Gower College, showcasing how consultants, contractors, the supply chain, and the college worked together to maximise positive social, economic, and environmental impacts. There will be speakers from AtkinsRéalis, Kier and Gower College. By the end, you’ll understand how social value can transform project delivery and create lasting benefits for communities across Wales.
