Christoph's journey in the tunnelling business started over 12 years ago during an internship on Crossrail Easter Running Tunnels with Dr. Sauer. Ever since he found his passion underground and worked for BeMo Tunnelling on several tunnel projects in Austria, Germany, and the UK. Most recently he is (again) seconded to Balfour Beatty's HPC marine works team. Initially, he supported the SCL onshore works, and now he is responsible for preparing the TBM-Tunnels for the offshore SCL campaign.

principal engineer: temporary works coordinator
James has worked in the construction industry for 13 years and is a chartered civil engineer with the ICE. He joined Balfour Beatty as a temporary works coordinator on the Hinkley Marine project in 2019 when they were preparing to launch the first of three TBMs. Since then, he has delivered a number of large and complex pieces of temporary works and contributed to the constructability of the permanent works design for the tunnel-shaft connections. James is now a principal engineer and co-leads the temporary works and methods team at Hinkley Marine Works.
