Overview

Hosted jointly with the NI Branch of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental management, this webinar will discuss the Living with Water Programme Belfast Strategic Drainage Infrastructure Plan, which was published in November 2021 following approval by the NI Executive. Under this plan around £1.4bn will be invested over a 12 year period in the drainage and wastewater infrastructure that serves Greater Belfast to protect against flood risk, enhance the environment and provide the capacity needed for economic growth.

This webinar will focus on how the LWWP ethos of integrated collaboration has informed the approach being taken by over 50 engineers and scientists on combining industry leading drainage and environmental modelling with optioneering, using early contractor involvement in order to develop to most efficient and sustainable solutions. These solutions will include the delivery of flood alleviation works, blue / green infrastructure, tunnels, storm attenuation tanks, upgrades to watercourses, sewers, wastewater pumping stations, wastewater treatment works and sea outfalls.
