In this Commerce & Contracts Special Interest Group Webinar, Dave Bathgate from Lockton will provide an overview of Professional Indemnity Insurance including; different types of cover; common extensions, exclusions and pitfalls; an overview of the market and how to troubleshoot issues.
This webinar is hosted by the ICE Northern Ireland Commerce & Contracts Special Interest Group and presented by Dave Bathgate from Lockton.

- An overview of what Professional Indemnity cover is
- Explanation of the different types of cover mean – Aggregate / any one claim etc.
- Common extensions, exclusions and pitfalls - failure to notify as claims made cover etc.
- Overview of the PI market, issues being experienced and market appetite
- What firms can do to help themselves on PI renewals
- Areas where market has changed – Fire Safety exclusions and other new exclusions / restrictions
- Explanation of the difference between reasonable skill and care and Fitness for purpose design obligations in D&B contracts
- Issues with employers asking for disproportionate levels of PI cover relative to a contract value
