Overview

Transport for Wales is leading the development of a new integrated transport system for South Wales. Building the South Wales Metro is an ambitious, multi-million-pound project. The South Wales Metro will be an integrated network of bus, rail and active travel (walking and cycling) that will improve connectivity and make sustainable travel easier across South Wales. This session will focus on the South East Wales Metro and the associated programmes that will deliver the next phases of an integrated, extended Metro network providing better connectivity within and beyond the Cardiff Capital Region. The Cardiff Capital Region priorities are split into immediate priorities that include rail extensions, bus, active travel and integration to longer term projects that include rail and bus rapid transit.
