Overview
The West Bay Coastal Defence Scheme included for the improvement of the West Bay Holiday Park riverbank to predominantly provide flood defence to the Parkdean Resorts UK West Bay Holiday Park and prevent flooding flow paths from the River Brit to the harbour and west of the town.
During detailed design of the riverbank works the (former) West Dorset District Council prioritised funding to the coastal defence phase and withdrew the Parkdean Riverbank Improvement Works from delivery in 2018 to identify other means of funding. Dorset Council and Parkdean Resorts UK agreed a new lease in 2020 that incorporated funding for the provision of a flood defence.
The webinar will include a full presentation on the challenges and successes of this project by representatives from Dorset Council and Jacobs.
This breakfast event is hosted by ICE South West’s Dorchester City Club. A Microsoft Teams meeting invitation will be sent to you via email two days before the event.
