Join us for the annual PIANC UK Young Professionals Seminar, an engaging event showcasing the knowledge, innovation and achievements of emerging professionals from across the maritime, coastal and waterborne infrastructure sectors.
This year's seminar features a series of concise and thought-provoking presentations covering a diverse range of projects and topics.
Delegates will explore the transformation of legacy port infrastructure to support the UK's Net Zero ambitions, innovative approaches to automating quay wall design, the role of environmental stewardship in coastal engineering at Blackpool Beach, and geotechnical site supervision on the major Ras El Hekma coastal development in Egypt.
Designed to give young professionals a platform to share their expertise and experiences with a broad audience, the seminar offers valuable technical insights, practical lessons learned and opportunities for professional discussion.
Attendees are encouraged to network with peers and industry professionals over refreshments before the event and continue conversations at the post-event networking reception.

Jacobs
Ports and Maritime Engineer
Jishnu Warrier is a ports and maritime engineer at Jacobs' London office and a Graduate Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE). He holds a degree in Structural Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, India, and has built experience in the design and delivery of maritime and coastal infrastructure projects across India, the Middle East, and Europe.
Haskoning
Geotechnical Engineer
Frederick (Fred) Linley, is a 28 year old geotechnical engineer at Haskonings. After completing his undergraduate in engineering geology and geotechnics at the University of Portsmouth, he went on to study structural geology with geophysics at the University of Leeds and graduated in 2021.
Fred then went onto work at Geoquip Marine, an offshore geotechnical firm conducting ground investigations for offshore developments, starting first as a graduate and leaving as a project engineer.
He has deep passion for geology with a particular interest into quaternary fauna and planetary geoscience.
Haskoning
Senior Graduate Maritime Engineer
Greg Jackson is a senior graduate maritime and civil engineer at Haskoning with over three and a half years of experience working on maritime infrastructure projects both in the UK and internationally. His engineering work has focused on structural analysis, port infrastructure design, asset inspections, and the development of digital technologies to support design and asset management.
Alongside his engineering role, he serves as the water and maritime digital and AI champion in London, supporting the adoption of automation, data-driven workflows, and digital tools across engineering teams. He has participated in and led a number of digital innovation initiatives, including award-nominated engineering automation tools, industry hackathons, and the development of digital inspection methodologies.
Mott MacDonald
maritime engineer
Mithun Praveen Subramaniam is a maritime engineer at Mott MacDonald with about 3 years of experience, working on the planning, design, and analysis of marine infrastructure projects across the UK. His experience includes site supervision, technical reporting, asset repair and rehabilitation studies, and cost estimation for marine structures. Mithun has worked on a range of infrastructure schemes involving marine structures, coastal assets, and port-related developments, with a particular interest in sustainable and practical engineering solutions. He is currently developing towards professional chartership through the Institution of Civil Engineers.

A series of web-based workshops aimed at graduate, student and technician members who are working toward EngTech, IEng or CEng with the ICE. These workshops provide advice and guidance on recording Initial Professional Development (IPD), broken down by attribute.

This is an opportunity for Technician members (EngTech MICE/FICE) and those wishing to become qualified at EngTech grade to come together to discuss issues that are important to technicians. This session explores becoming an ICE EngTech reviewer, with benefits and applying.

Join the ECNet for this technical webinar about the design of active travel infrastructure. Two Incorporated Engineers from Mott MacDonald will share key learning from a redevelopment scheme focusing on active travel, and a new layout for the design of CYCLOPS junctions.
