Book nowStraddling the boundary between England and Wales, marine projects within the Bristol Channel must take into account a highly dynamic and environmentally sensitive environments, including the world’s second highest tidal range and a extensive environmental designated areas.
This seminar showcases the route to successful project delivery, from the initial design development and consenting and environmental assessments, through to the construction and later maintenance phases.
After lunch there will be the opportunity to visit the Bristol Port Company’s new cutter dredger ‘Trym’ and plough vessel ‘Graham Robertson’ to get a better idea of the equipment typically deployed to maintain safe navigational levels within a busy harbour environment.
The seminar will explain the differing consenting and environmental assessments required within English and Welsh waters, highlight the Bristol Port Company’s proposed new Wind Terminal Development in Avonmouth and the marine works delivered by DEME as part of the construction of the Hinkley Nuclear Power Station.
It will also showcase the maintenance dredging activities undertaken within Bristol and the ABP South Wales ports, along with the works undertaken by the Canal & River Trust in the River Severn and Gloucester and Sharpness Canal and its associated docks.
Please note: the site visit is now fully booked. However, places are still available for the morning seminar and lunch. If there are any cancellations or no-shows on the day, there may still be an opportunity to join the site visit.
