Through live demonstrations and practical case studies, attendees will see how engineering teams are already applying AI to automate calculations, standardise processes, optimise designs and build bespoke digital tools without traditional software development experience. The discussion will also address some of the key challenges facing adoption across the sector - including trust in AI outputs, data quality, integration with existing workflows, governance, and the balance between engineering judgement and automation.
A key focus of the session will be how young engineers can equip themselves for the future of the profession. Speakers will explore the skills, mindset and technical understanding needed to thrive in an increasingly digital industry, and how emerging engineers can position themselves at the forefront of innovation rather than being disrupted by it.
To encourage hands-on learning beyond the session itself, attendees will also receive access to a free one-month VIKTOR trial and be invited to take part in a follow-up innovation challenge, where participants can apply the platform to a real engineering workflow or idea. Selected submissions may be showcased as part of a future follow-up session, providing an opportunity for participants to demonstrate their thinking, creativity and practical application of AI in engineering.
